#ignitingcreativitychallenge

This week’s challenge was to create a piece based on a single subject not being alone (pretty poignant with the current restrictions due to the Covid pandemic).

What is beautifully poetic about my piece I’ve called ‘Joy’ is that it began life on Wednesday during an informal Zoom art making session hosted by Art as Exchange (AAEX); so as I sat on my own at my computer, laying the groundwork for this piece, I wasn’t actually alone.

Over a dozen members of AAEX, of which I am now one, spent an hour with their cameras focused on their own workspaces, working on their own projects with their preferred mediums - paints, canvas, fabric, pixels, whatever .

I continued to work on this new piece for the rest of the week and I was compelled to call it joy when I finished it today. It features the timeless beauty that is Ivory Flame, who I photographed remotely before Christmas.
