PhotoIreland Bright Sessions and YourDailyPhotograph.com

Bright Room Sessions

The brain child of David Flood in collaboration with PhotoIreland, the Bright Room Sessions have been set up as a monthly support mechanism for photographers on the island of Ireland or Irish photographers practising abroad to access positive critique and support during the current networking challenges.

The sessions are run over Zoom on the last Thursday of the month with five photographers presenting their work for 10 minutes each with a further 10 minutes allocated for discussion following the individual presentations.

I was one of the presenters selected for the inaugural PhotoIreland Bright Room Zoom session on Thursday and I found it a very positive experience with great feedback and suggestions from David and the attendees. I received a copy of the chat by email after the session which is really useful (it’s easy to miss great suggestions - the ten minutes goes by so fast), I’ve printed mine and stuck it up in my workspace.

Although the sessions are not recorded, you can register to present or attend future sessions. For more details and to register check out the PhotoIreland website.

YourDailyPhotograph email this week from the Duncan Miller Gallery, California. 27th Feb 2021.

If you love photography and amazing prints, it’s well worth subscribing to YourDaliyPhotograph.com. Once a day you’ll get three prints delivered to your inbox at very special prices, from vintage/classic prints from Henri-Cartier-Bresson to contemporary work like mine, you’re bound to discover something special.

I am very honoured to have been included in the daily offering on the 27th February 2021 and I look forward to making more prints available in the future.

SolArt Gallery Dublin

I got some exciting news from SolArt Gallery on Friday, which I’ll talk more about next week. But I can tell you Separation 38”x38” Edition 1 of 2 is sold and edition 2 of 2 is reserved.

I number my editions based on print sizes - the small prints are produced in editions of 10, the medium-sized in editions of 5 and the large prints are in editions of 2. So although I’m sad in a way there won’t be another Separation printed at 38”x38”, I am excited to see this iconic piece sell out at this size.

I’m still working on my challenge image for this week, believe me it will be worth the wait. In the meantime, here’s next week’s challenge;

Theme: Repair.

Challenge: Use a needle and/or thread.
