During lockdown I made a list. I made a list of all the places I wanted to photograph when restrictions began to lift, preferably with friends.
Love or hate social media, sometimes it turns up some real gems and that’s how I discovered Laragh House, just outside Maynooth, Co. Kildare.
Dating from the 1740s it hasn’t seen any significant changes since the 1970s and so the house is in a glorious state of delicious decay.
However, please note, now I’ve told you where I was - you must now expunge this location from your memory (In case you haven’t heard, the first rule of photography is Thou Shalt Not Reveal the Location of your Shoot).
So, keeping the above in mind, I travelled last Friday to an undisclosed location to meet up with two most excellently talented photographers and a beautiful model.
I brought my trusty collection of vintage dresses and a new piece, a gorgeous lace bolero jacket by fashion designer, Somnia Romantica by Marjolein Turin and we shot with the most exquisite Sophie Merry.
Why am I divulging all this information to you? Because I sadly don’t own Laragh House and I most certainly do not own Sophie and both enjoy photoshoots (I do, however, own the lace bolero jacket!).
I hope this lack of possessiveness will inspire you to break the rules; because I’d love to hear about your favourite locations and models to shoot with.
